DAVE’S FIRST FIRST PERSON WEEKLY REVIEW
Editor’s note (aka: Mom’s disclaimer): David thought it was time he actually got to write his own Blog entry. I scoffed at first, thinking it might be a little too soon, but he insisted, soooooooo, what the heck, let’s see what the little man has to say. It ‘is’ his Blog after all… You should know that I’ve helped him with his spelling and punctuation though, because, well, his grammar definitely needs some work. Okay, let’s tell the truth, it would be grammatically incoherent, but I’ve done my best to keep his message clear…He claims to be taking it very seriously, and apparently, he thinks writers wear scarves for inspiration. Soon he’ll be asking for a pipe. Hey there Everybody. It’s me, David C Stein, but you can call me Dave. Can’t believe Mom’s really turning the reigns over to me. Ahh, creative carte blanche. Where to begin?
“Carte blanche? He doesn’t even know what that means. This is going to be a disaster.”-Editor
Oh, I know what it means. It means I get to say whatever I want. The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States we live in says so.
“What? How does he know that? He can’t even read. Who’s helping him?”-Editor
“Don’t look at me.”-Jen
Hey, I’m a Patriot. I was practically born on the 4th of July. I know stuff. Are you gonna let me do this, or not?
“Fine, go ahead, as long as you remember these reigns can be snatched away from you as quickly as they were handed over.”-Editor
Fine, whatever. Okay, where was I? I’m psyched to have this opportunity to share my view of the world with you all. First, I’d like to thank my Mom, Auntie Jen and everyone at Free Dog for “Dave’s Week in Review”. I’d also like to thank my biological Mom & Dad, Abby & Buddy, because I wouldn’t be here at all without them.
“Really? This sounds a lot like an Academy Award acceptance speech. Apparently he stayed awake watching the Oscars long after I fell asleep last Sunday night. I think he has a little crush on that Best Supporting Actress, Alicia Vikander.” -Editor
Right, so maybe I do. Is that wrong? I’m just saying I know this is a big responsibility, and I want everyone to know how thankful I am and how seriously I’m taking it. I’m not only going to be the voice of my generation, I’m going to be the voice of my species. So, since this forum is “Dave’s Week in Review”, I thought I’d start out describing what an average week is like in my world.
“That’s a really good idea, David. Maybe he has a knack for this after all.”-Editor
During the week when Camp is open our alarm goes off at 5:20, and it always scares the heck out of me. Me and Mom hang out in bed for about 10 minutes, which is great, cause we get to snuggle and I get great belly rubs while Mom watches the news. I like to go out and pee before breakfast, then I go out again before my after-breakfast nap while Mom helps Auntie Jen at 118. Once in awhile I get to go and surprise her and Jazzy. Once a week, Jazzy comes back here in the morning to play with her friends, but usually it’s just me & Mom opening Camp. Sometimes I get to stay there and hang out, but I’ve come to realize that usually means I’m getting a Bath.
When all of our Members start coming for Daycare I usually go out with my best friends that come early, like Nicholas, Mazie, Bella and Brody. Later, when it’s time for Play Rounds, I get to go in every yard with Mom and play with everybody. I’m usually pretty tired after that and take a nap on my ottoman ‘til dinner. When Auntie Kristine works I get to play with Vida, and usually go running errands with Mom and visit with everybody at 118. We almost always take time for Training games and silly photo shoots.
We decided not to post a ton of Camp pics cause you get to see them every day on our facebook page.
Sometimes we have Meet & Greets, and I get to help assess the new Daycare prospects, but usually after Camp me & Jazzy hang out at 118 with our Moms while they eat, watch tv and take care of all the Boarding dogs. Then we come back home to 7G, and I chew on my bone in bed ‘til I fall asleep.
Weekends aren’t always the same. It depends on whether Mom & Auntie are working. When they’re working, we all hang out at 118. We get to sleep in, like an hour and a half later, which is really cool. I like sleeping late.
Whether we’re working or not, Mom almost always cooks breakfast on weekends, and me & Jazzy usually get a little piece of cheese. We Love that. Then I’m mostly either playing with the Boarders or just hanging out on the porch or the deck with Jazzy, Mom and Auntie. When we’re not working, and not going away for the weekend, we all stay at 7G and get to sleep in even longer. We get to play with all our favorite toys and hang out together, just the four of us. We all like that. When it’s nice out we usually go someplace for a walk or run, but when it’s not, we rest up for the next week.
That’s what makes up a regular week for me. As you can see, I’m a pretty busy Guy, but I’m gonna do my best to make time for writing my Blog posts. There’s always fun stuff going on around here, so I shouldn’t have any trouble coming up with new stories to share with you all.
So, how’d I do?
“I think you nailed it, Dave. We’ll know for sure when the reviews come in. I don’t know if there’s a Pulitzer in your future, but it looks like you’ve got a grip on your Week in Review.”-Editor
“Nicely done, David.”-Jen
